Senior Manager /Director of Software Quality Assurance Play Hard Sports Inc. is North America’s first casual sports network focused exclusively on developing and publishing exceptional sports games and entertainment across the Internet. We are searching for a Sr. Manager of Quality Assurance to build and manage our QA group. This is a “hands-on” position and will require that you be able to perform software QA while building the team around you. Responsibilities: • Define and manage the Quality Assurance strategy, deliverables, methodologies and processes for testing our games, portal and back-office applications • Work with the development teams to develop project schedules and resource allocation models for QA related projects and other activities such as software deployment, customer integration, and professional services validation • Identify and implement new techniques for reducing costs and increasing product quality • Create and implement a strategy to effectively develop and utilize automated testing • Provide effective communication regarding issues, objectives, initiatives and performance to plan • Supervise staff (internal and outsourced), prioritize and assign projects and track progress of the testing effort Requirements: • A BS-MIS degree or equivalent work experience • A proven track record of delivering a high-quality retail software products • Must have 3+ years managing quality assurance processes for independent software vendors and/or web development shops • A minimum of 4 years management experience with team(s) of at least 5 people • Experience defining, creating, executing and documenting Test Plans, Test Cases, defect/bug tracking techniques • 3-4 years experience testing web and client-server technologies • Experience managing remotely-located and/or outsourced staff • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills • Proficiency with Windows applications such as MS Office and MS Project • 2-3 years experience with revision control systems, memory checking, test automation and bug tracking software • The preferred candidate will be a diplomatic communicator, have an aggressive nature and not be easily intimidated Pluses: • Hands-on automated functional, load, regression, unit and/or user acceptance testing with Mercury QuickTest Pro or Winrunner and automated load testing with Mercury LoadRunner; testing web-based applications either in Java and/or Perl • Experience with LAMP technology (Linux, Apache, MySql, PHP) If you want to join our team email hr@playhard.net with your resume and this position title in the subject line. © 2008 Play Hard Sports, Inc.
